Workshop on Open Science - Preparing a Research Data Management Plan (DMP) and Data Publication

This event  is intended as hands-on training for researchers who wish to acquire practical skills in preparing a Research Data Management Plan (DMP). The workshop will be held in English.

Participants will:

• learn about funders’ requirements for research data management,
• review useful resources and tools for preparing an DMP,
• gain practical experience in writing their own plan.

 

Various support resources will be presented, including:

• the online course Uvod v ravnanje z raziskovalnimi podatki v skladu z načeli odprte znanosti (Introduction to Research Data Management in Accordance with Open Science Principles),
• the Priročnik o načrtovanju ravnanja z raziskovalnimi podatki (Handbook on Research Data Management Planning),
• and ARIS’s predloga NRRP (DMP template).

 

Registration for the event is required. Registrations will be accepted until all places are filled. Due to the nature of the event, we expect participants to attend the entire session. We recommend that you bring your own computer to the workshop.

 

The event is organized as a part of MSCA SMASH and ACROSS activities, as well as a part of the activity 6.2.1/4 of the Open Science Action Plan.

1 Welcome and introduction

Presentation of the Open Library and RUNG and tour de table of the participants

MSc. Irena Vipavc Brvar is a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ljubljana, working at the Social Science Data Archive (ADP). ADP is a national resource centre, which acquires data from academic research projects and government or commercial surveys. Data is stord in computer-readable form which facilitates further study, statistical analysis, and presentation.
