Open Science is a movement aimed at making scientific research and its dissemination more accessible to everyone, including researchers, policymakers, businesses, and the general public. It promotes transparency, collaboration, and accessibility in all aspects of the research process, from the generation of data to the publication of results. The overall goal of Open Science is to make research more efficient, reproducible, and impactful by fostering an environment of transparency and collaboration. It is a response to challenges in traditional research models, such as limited access to scientific findings and difficulties in reproducing studies, and it aligns with the growing expectation that publicly funded research should benefit society at large. This mini workshop provides basic information on Open Science and Communication in Science.
